Wellness Classes: SomaYoga & Feldenkrais


SomaYoga is a therapeutic mode of movement with an emphasis on self-compassion. It is based on the field of Somatics, which is the study of the interconnections and internal sensations of the body, mind and whole self. 

This is yoga for every-body. You don’t have to be highly flexible. You don’t have to be super strong. You don’t have to be a certain size or shape. We will focus on your body’s alignment and your comfort in the poses. We’ll also explore breathing, relaxation, and a little meditation.

Come with a beginner’s mind, a light heart, and release expectations. Let’s keep yoga FUN! Too many times we turn exercise into a chore and lose the joy of moving our bodies. 

CLASSES

Tuesdays at 8 – 9 AM.   CLICK HERE TO REGISTER*

Cost: $15 per class and $45 per month.

Class will take place on Zoom. – I’ve been teaching classes on Zoom since March 2020, and it’s going very well.  Through the power of technology, I am able to provide detailed instruction and feedback to you. Don’t worry, I’ll coach you if Zoom is new for you!

What will you need?

  • Internet access and a device to see and hear me.
  • A place to practice – ideally open floor space 5 x 8′ or more.
  • A few other things you have around the house: a chair, blankets, pillows.
  • Yoga props, if you have them or want to get them: a mat, 2 blocks, a strap, a folded blanket, a bolster.

Feldenkrais® Awareness Through Movement®

Feldenkrais is a neurological re-education method to improve how you move: Smoother, more graceful, whole body and integrated.

Enhance all your simple everyday activities: 

  • Sitting down and standing back up
  • Getting into and out of a tub or car
  • Healthy use of your tools and your body while gardening, doing home repairs, and working
  • Learn to function as an integrated whole being. 
  • Move with ease, grace, and a spring in your step.

Awareness Through Movement® class on Zoom 

Class will take place on Zoom. – I’ve been teaching Awareness Through Movement on Zoom since March 2020 and it’s going very well. Don’t worry, I’ll coach you if Zoom is new for you!

What will you need?

  • Internet access and a device to see and hear me.
  • A place to practice – ideally open floor space 5 x 8′ or more.
  • Comfortable layered clothing. A sweater and socks may be helpful.
  • A few other things you have around the house: a chair, blankets, pillows.

Wednesday mornings at 9-10 AM CT.
